. There’s no reason for us to go into direct competition with them for that particular style of product. What we are planning to get done eventually (we have a lot of irons in the fire filling orders for existing product lines) is an SST-870 front iron sight unit to use with BUIS or detach carry handle on the SST rail. MudBug 12/11/2004 8:59:05 PM I don’t believe Mesa Tactical has theirs out yet, (Maybe they do) I just prefer to give my cash to Arfcom supporters, but I guess if you guys have no plans on one I’ll have to choose one of the others. And yes, the StockShock seems to work well with irons, at least the model I tried at the SAR show did. I guess since they use your M4 stocks I would still be support an ar15.com vender. But they have shocks, people would laugh at me. nchapa 12/12/2004 2:07:27 AM What we are planning to get done eventually (we have a lot of irons in the fire filling orders for existing product lines) is an SST-870 front iron sight unit to use with BUIS or detach carry handle on the SST rail. A prototype Urbino Tactical Stock for the Benelli AccessoriesM4 has been undergoing rigorous testing with a major west coast police department during the winter of 2009-2010, and has been receiving rave reviews from test participants. “Apparently,” says Barrie, “it’s just what the doctor ordered. We are very excited to be bringing this innovative design to market.”

I knew right away I wanted to do something different with it, but I did not want to spend $1000.00 tricking it out. I’ve invested too much in other weapons anyway. I wanted to keep it cheap and simple, yet make it into something different than a stock 10/22. I looked at some of the pictures in the 10/22 picture thread, and decided to go with an old school M14 Accessorieskind of look. I purchased a set of the Tech Sights for $55.00, a vented handguard and flash hider from CTD. The items arrived and I got to work. Installing the handguard was a bear. The securing ring was too wide to slip down into the forearm. I had to hand file grooves for it to fit snugly. But, now the thing is on and its not coming off unless someone takes vice grips and a blowtorch to it. I don’t really mind this fact because the vented guard does not interfere at all with field stripping and cleaning the weapon. The Tech Sights were simple. Getting the stock FSP out was a tad rough because I did not have a drift to do it with. I love the Tech Sight, but I did not like the empty area between the front of the rear sight and the barrel shroud. I thought of something cheap and easy. To fill the gap, I cut down the stock optic rail to about 3" with a hacksaw, finished it with a file and sandpaper, and painted the end with M-New (subdued military insignia touch-up). I then secured it to the receiver using the stock screws. The flash hider is nice, but in order to get a good fit, I used some heat-resistant silicone caulk to slightly coat the inside of it before slipping it on. I made sure to put Loctite on the set screw before tightening it down. I am going to be adding an extended mag release, an extended bolt handle, a new bolt release, sling swivels, and a leather sling in the coming weeks. I wanted to keep it cheap, make it unique, and have it able to function as a good training platform for larger rifles. I must say I am happy with the results as well as the expense – this whole rifle set me back under $300.00!

Anyone have one of the Trijicon Reflex models? Feedback as a CQB optic. RumbleTruck9/15/2008 9:26:13 AM I’ve used both the 1st & 2nd gen Reflex’s on pistol caliber carbines and AR’s. The 1st gen can wash out in bright sunlight, the 2nd Gen is much better (Trijicon extended the hood further to help this). They were both sturdy and durable and I liked them alot. Shot them from cqb to 100 yds. Dot was quick to pick up. I have not had a chance to fondle/T&E the new RX30, but since it’s Trijicon , it will rock. My goto gun, LE6920, will have a Trijicon optic when the $ are available (leaning toward a compact ACOG). bushflyr9/15/2008 12:12:14 PM I had one of the original RX01′s and it is definitely a well made sight.

That was until I got my set of Pro Ears ‘Gold’. Suddenly the world of shooting opened up to me again. With my Pro Ears ‘Gold’, even on the lowest setting I can carry on normal conversation and hear what’s happening around my family and friends at the range. In fact, last Christmas I bought them for all my family and friends! The slim profile models let me shoot Trap and Sporting Clays with confidence. The TAC models protect my hearing protection from even the biggest boomers I have to test.

Plus it’s easier to remove than the “tight as heck” ARMS Scope Mount for when you put the rifle in the case.

That’s just one more reason why I ordered one from you the other night.

If you want the best then go Mesa. the recoil reduction systems are totally different so it is hard to compare the stocks. I find the transistion of the weapon through the firing stage is a lot smoother with the Endine buffer then with the simple two spring system of the SpecOps. The one issue that may help you decide is that the Mesa has to fired from the shoulder to receive any recoild reduction as the Endine buffer is in the stock tube. The SpecOps has to two springs, the main one is in the pistol grip so you still get the benifit of recoil reduction when shooting from the hip. ArmyLifer 4/9/2010 8:46:20 PM Originally Posted By aippi: Your wallet will make it for you as you can get a SpecOps for between $110 and $120 but the Mesa is around $300.00. The SpecOps has to two springs, the main one is in the pistol grip so you still get the benifit of recoil reduction when shooting from the hip. IMHO, this is the best reply to the OP. The reasons cited are on point and why I went with the Knoxx SpecOps. I added the Knoxx PowerPac (side saddle, high cheek weld) and a Pachmayr GripAll to finish off the stock. I do have one Mesa Tactical piece; their one point sling ring, works great. For the sight a NC Star ; red/ green, 3 brightness levels and 4 different reticles. Yeah, I know NC star is at the bottom of the list, but the wife bought it being nice and I actually like it alot. For $60 what the hell. She likes it and it is the house HD gun which she also shoots. I couldnt be happier with the Knoxx and left a few extra dollars for other toys. Scott66black 4/9/2010 10:44:41 PM +1 on the Mesa/Endine unit , it does cost more but it works oh so good. Makes 3inch magnum slugs feel like your shooting cotton balls out of the thing Depidy_Dawg 4/9/2010 11:35:40 PM I don’t know about the Mesa units, but I like them. My buddy and fellow deputy bought a Knoxx stock from Sportsman’s Guide for under 85 bucks, so the price was great! Shooting that thing is a dream, but the pistol grip is a bit on the large size to be able to accomodate the spring. I like the poster who put a grip sleeve on it, good idea, as the plastic on the Knoxx is slick. I just got a Mossy 590A1 with the 8 shot mag tube. I don’t like the factory pistol grip set up, so I’m leaning towards the Knoxx for mine and the cheek pad and 5 shot holders as I feel that will balance out the nose heaviness of the 590A1. Installing the Knoxx is a breeze and my buddy swears by it. Again, if you have small hands the grip my be a bit on the largeish side for you.

I know the battery is too large so it’s not even possible, but the only way it could have been better was if it could somehow fit a spare battery like my old M3 and LaRue Tactical mount did. As it stands though, it’s perfect. I can fit one on top of my ACR grip plug though so it’s not an issue.

FAST order processing and COOL/USEFUL free stuff with a PEERLESS product line at unbeatable pricing?! How do they do it?!

Thanks LaRue!

The douglas will shoot well also. They are cut different. There are a bunch but many actually are either barnett or wilson barrels. Lija also has a good one. Shillon (spelling) There are a bunch out there. I have liked the krieger as they seem to last longer. peasant

For over 15 years I have been associated with a training organization for civilians and law enforcement. The Pro Ears products have been invaluable in allowing me to run a safer event, and help me to communicate with my students. I have used Pro Ears hearing protection protection for over 10 years and on occasion have forgotten I have them on. Your help only underscores the quality of your product and the professionalism you bring to the job. I have two older pairs and would like know if I can send them back to be repaired if possible. I would plan to use them as loaners and believe they will be a positive sales tool also . Best regards. Brad Guth A Little Extra I salute you and your company for your generosity in replacing the headband assembly when my Ultra 33 was several months out of warranty. As a result of the easy repair, I have found a new use which is to listen to my MP3 under the muffs when mowing and string trimming. I wonder what people say when they see the grin on my face. I can’t believe I’m actually working and it has completely changed [...]

When I got my LaRue Tactical QD mount it’s much better, I see less of my front sight which is now out of the way at the lower 1/3 of my view, plus the LaRue Tactical is QD which could be quickly removed in an emergency and have excellent return to zero performance. The LaRue Tactical is worth it and hard to beat in my honest opinion, I had been using mine for about five years without any problems. http://stores.homestead.com/Laruetactical/Detail.bok?no=33 YMMV AR3 -Fozzy- Bronze Contributor Team Feb 2011 [...]

Yes, sir! That is why I like mounting the ACOG on my carry handle. In my simplistic mind, it makes sense having that iron sight right under the ACOG for immediate use. Slightly off topic and hijacking my own thread , I am a big proponent of having BUIS on my flat tops. If the great, mighty ACOG can fail, any other optic can fail also. WI57 Breath, Relax, Aim, Squeeze… Gold Contributor Team Dec 2006 USA WI, USA 3985 : 0-0-0 : 6/9/2011 12:28:56 T Originally By Lindy_Hoppin_Gun_Nut: Originally By WI57: Since when does Trijicon reccomend drilling another hole in the carry handle…? It’s in the manual, complete with a drawing and all. I installed the ACOG on the carry handle without reading the manual first. I thought the purpose of the two holes on Ta01′s base is allow the operator to mount the optic on two different positions. Then I saw the drawing and the suggestion to drill another hole on the carry handle. “Crutz!”

I have several weapon lights and some Surefires. I’m not ordering any more from them as others (Insight, Streamlight and Sightmark(you should see the power of these!)) are building superior products at HALF THE PRICE. Notice the Surefire X300 is just a light? Where’s the laser for that price? Don’t buy it! PoopyPants603 2/19/2009 1:18:10 AM ftldrben:
